Using Verbs With Gerunds

Using Verbs With Gerunds

Samina Noor; Last week I made my students perform a group activity ,the purpose of this activity was to learn to use adjectives with the preposition (in)and use of (to be) verbs with help of gerund. These types of structure are excellent for learning to speak English. They soon became fluent in speaking and formation of sentences. I found that this type of activity is very progressive and fruitful for the students from speaking aspect. The results were fantastic and I felt a lot of improvement in students too.

Getting Aware About Cancer

Hooriya Rehman Khattak; On Feb 6, 2015, we attended a session on “World Cancer Day”. Session was given by four students of college. These students have also been a part of last year’s Access Program. We learned a lot of things about cancer like; how we should treat the cancer patients and how can we help them. Mostly this day is celebrated on Feb 4. In our world, about 7.9 million people are prone to death due to cancer and 3.4 million of population is living with cancer. The reason of cancer is lack of exercises that increases chances of cancer in our body, the main causes of cancer include smoke and air pollution. Cancer is one of the most dangerous and disastrous disease, that is present in today’s world .We should treat the cancer patient with care because they are very sensitive, we should take care of them and be empathetic to them. On this day we made cards for them and on Feb 7, 2015 we visited a hospital and met with cancer patients. I was surprised to see that most of them were young kids. We provided them with cards and chocolates and also hugged them, leaving the message that we are there with them in their hard times.
